Now retired, Virgil was software head for PAC LP, former engineering manager for Thermo Onix (nee Houston Atlas), and previously president of SACO, an electronic consulting and development firm. I worked with Virgil at Litton Resource Systems back in 1972. Over the years, we have continued a working relationship, most recently at Baker CAC, where I contracted with him and his Saco people for a number of projects.

I worked with Mike at Pathfinder Energy Services (PFES) where Mike was the project manager for the Pathmaker™ 3D rotational steering tool. He gave me the mandate to redesign and rewrite whatever was necessary to make the firmware reliable and maintainable.

Jim is the engineering manager at RFTrax. We worked together primarily on the RFT-ACCEL intelligent triaxial accelerometer, although he was well aware of my other work on chemical, radiological, and other sensors. As an EE, Jim knows me as “the filter guy” since I designed both the analog elliptical anti-aliasing filters and firmware FIR filters for the RFT-ACCEL unit. He also worked with me when I was designing the device and writing the spec.

Steve is Chief Technology Officer of Intelligent Systems and Innovative Software, his own consulting firm. For the past several years, Steve has worked mostly at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). On 1-January-2007, Steve will become an employee at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). I worked with Steve at LANL and previously at Cray and IBM, although we've known each other much longer.

Walter is the author of the Digital Mars (nee Symantec, nee Zortech) C/C++ compiler. I've known him since 1979. In 1990, he arranged for Zortech to purchase a portion of a library I'd written which became part of the 2.1 release of Zortech C++.
